Context

After I graduated from college I had no idea what career path to follow. Instead of figuring out a career path, I took the first job that came to me.

I wasn’t working my way towards an end career goal, but playing trial and error to see if a career might stick.

When my contract at my last job ended, I decided to give myself time to think about a direction forward.

Step 1 — Figure out Your Interests

My job at The Food Network was my third job in three years. I’d become an expert at hitting something I didn’t like and fleeing to anything different. I lamented to a friend that I was in yet another work rut and I wasn’t sure what to do next.
